Patch 8.10 - Harvest Haven

Patch 8.10 - Harvest Haven

Introducing Harvest Haven

A new beginner-friendly adventure zone has arrived: Harvest Haven.

Harvest Haven is designed as a clearer early-game starting point where players can farm, fish, hunt, explore, complete quests, earn useful currencies, and slowly work toward becoming a true Friend of Harvest Haven.

🌾 A New Place to Start

Harvest Haven gives players a simple early-game loop:

Explore β†’ gather quest items β†’ complete quests β†’ earn Harvest currency β†’ unlock rewards β†’ progress toward full island completion

You can focus on farming, fishing, hunting, cave exploration, or hidden objectives depending on how you want to play.

It is not meant to be endgame content. It is meant to be approachable, rewarding, and easy to understand for a new player and to easily get introduced to the custom currencies and items.

πŸ‘¨β€πŸŒΎ Farmer John

Farmer John is the best place to begin.

He introduces players to farming quests and the basic Harvest Haven reward loop.

Farmer John offers:

  • Welcome to Harvest Haven
  • Daily Wheat Delivery
  • Daily Carrot Delivery
  • Daily Potato Crate
  • Daily Beetroot Bundle
  • Weekly Harvest Shipment

Break fully grown crops near the farm, collect special crop items, and turn them in for Malachite and money.

Weekly farming progress rewards Moonstone and a larger payout.

🎣 Fisher Finn

Fisher Finn handles the fishing branch of Harvest Haven.

Fishing has been kept simple, with two special fishing drops to collect:

  • Silver Minnow
  • Tangled Reed

Fish around Harvest Haven, collect these items, and bring them to Fisher Finn for daily and weekly rewards.

🏹 Arn the Hunter

Arn the Hunter is for players who want combat.

He sends players to hunt wolves around Harvest Haven and gather materials from the darker creatures inside Rootrot Caverns.

Arn’s quests include:

  • Daily Wolf Pelts
  • Daily Sharp Fangs
  • Daily Rootrot Relics
  • Daily Cave Cleanup
  • Daily Miner Scraps
  • Weekly Wolf Contract
  • Weekly Rootrot Cleanup
  • Weekly Forgotten Miner

Combat quests reward Harvest currency, money, and progress toward the wider island completion path.

πŸ‡ Harvest Haven Events

Harvest Haven also includes small random events to make the island feel more active between quests.

During Escaped Harvest Bunnies, several bunnies appear around the island and can be rescued by right-clicking them. Each rescue gives a small reward and counts toward the long-term Bunny Savior Challenge.

Progress can be checked with /bunny progress, and the final Ruby reward can be claimed with /bunny claim once enough bunnies have been rescued.

Harvest Haven can also enter Harvest Rush, where crops grow faster for a short time and harvesting crops inside the zone gives bonus money.

This bonus is separate from Jobs, so it only rewards crops actually harvested in Harvest Haven.

These events are meant to keep the island simple for new players, while still giving returning players small reasons to come back and participate.

πŸ•³οΈ Rootrot Caverns

Below Harvest Haven lies Rootrot Caverns, a darker combat-focused area filled with cave creatures, forgotten miners, hidden objectives, and stronger rewards.

Speak to Khadgar the Wizard when you are ready to enter.

Rootrot creatures include:

  • Cave Crawler
  • Rootrot Zombie
  • Mossback Spider
  • Forgotten Miner

Rootrot Caverns has its own material loop, daily quests, weekly quests, hidden NPCs, and small money rewards from monsters.

⛏️ Mineable Rootrot Ore Veins

Rootrot Caverns also includes special mineable ore veins scattered throughout the cave.

These veins are personal to each player. When you mine one, you receive its rewards and that vein becomes depleted for you, but other players can still mine their own version of the same ore.

After roughly 20 hours, the vein recovers and can be mined again.

This keeps the cave fair for everyone while still making exploration feel rewarding. One player cannot clear every ore vein for the entire server, and the cave remains intact for others.

While exploring the caverns, you may find:

  • Raw Ores to mine
  • Small money rewards
  • A small chance for Moonstone from diamond veins

The ore veins are not meant to replace normal mining or become the main progression loop. They are there to make Rootrot Caverns feel more alive and give players another thing to interact with while completing Rootrot quests. So remember to bring your pickaxe!

🧭 Hidden Objectives

Not every task in Harvest Haven is shown directly.

Some villagers are hidden around the island, rewarding players who explore beyond the obvious paths.

Hidden Harvest Haven NPCs include:

  • Elowen Goldhive β€” Beekeeper near the bee area
  • Osric Ironbarrow β€” Miner in the central island cave
  • Aldwyn Farrow β€” Old Traveler near the horse coach
  • Harlan Windrow β€” Farmer near the biggest windmill

There is also a hidden Rootrot Caverns objective from General Smith, who asks players to find missing wardens below the island.

Hidden Rootrot NPCs include:

  • Aldric Stoneward
  • Rowena Ashford
  • Cedric Deepdelve
  • Maelis Thornroot

Completing the Rootrot hidden objective rewards Veiled Crystals and money.

πŸ§“ Friend of Harvest Haven

Elder Rowan Hearthvale tracks your full island progress.

To become a true Friend of Harvest Haven, you must complete each major branch of the island once.

Full completion includes:

  • Welcome quest
  • Farming daily quests
  • Farming weekly quest
  • Fishing daily quests
  • Fishing weekly quest
  • Hunting quests
  • Rootrot Caverns quests
  • Rootrot weekly quests
  • Harvest Haven hidden NPC objective
  • Rootrot Caverns hidden NPC objective

Completing everything rewards a Ruby and is intended for more experienced players.

🌱 Farming, Fishing & Combat Rewards

Harvest Haven has several ways to earn useful rewards.

Fully grown crops can drop special farming quest items, while fishing can reward Silver Minnows and Tangled Reeds.

Monsters in the wolf area and Rootrot Caverns can drop combat quest materials and may also give small money rewards on kill.

Farming quest items include:

  • Golden Wheat Bundle
  • Plump Carrot
  • Sturdy Potato
  • Ruby Beetroot
  • Farmer’s Token

Crops can also rarely drop bonus treasures such as Diamonds and very rare Netherite Ingots.

πŸ“Š First-Time Bossbar Guide

New players entering Harvest Haven will receive a short bossbar guide.

This guide helps explain where to start and what to do next without needing a long tutorial.

The guide points players toward:

  • Talking to Farmer John (main questgiver)
  • Breaking fully grown crops near the barn
  • Completing a daily quest to earn Malachite
  • Speaking to Hazel Harekeeper (info)
  • Speaking to Khadgar the Wizard (teleporter)
  • Finding Arn the Hunter or Fisher Finn (quests)
  • Visiting Elder Rowan to track full island progress (progress tracker)

πŸ›’ Harvest Merchant

Harvest Haven includes a dedicated Harvest Merchant for island rewards, furniture, and currency exchange.

Players can buy a few cozy harvest and fishing themed decorations, trade extra Malachite into Moonstone, and work toward the Elderroot Harvest Rune.

The merchant does not replace /forge. Power items, upgrades, and custom item crafting still belong at the Forge, and the merchant includes a direct Forge shortcut for that reason.

🌾 Elderroot Harvest Rune

The Elderroot Harvest Rune is a long-term reward for dedicated farmers.

Keep it in your inventory to gain +20% Farmer Jobs Money.

βš–οΈ Fair Daily Limits

Harvest Haven is designed to be beginner-friendly and rewarding, but it should not be possible to farm weeks of quest materials in one session.

To keep the island fair and healthy, special Harvest Haven drops have daily limits.

This applies to special crop drops, fishing drops, and mob quest drops.

You can still play, gather, and earn rewards, but excessive stockpiling is limited. Casual players should barely notice this, while hardcore grinding is kept under control.

πŸ”§ Other Changes

Several other improvements and fixes are also included with this update:

  • Low durability warnings have been improved. Custom items, Diamond items, Netherite items, and Fishing Rods now show a much clearer warning when they are close to breaking, including a center-screen alert and sound at critical durability.
  • Bedrock support has now been added for custom mobs and content in areas such as Dungeons, Isle of the Dead, Fallen Kingdom, and more. Instead of appearing invisible or as particles only, these mobs should now display as vanilla entities for Bedrock players.
  • The bosses in the Heroic Dungeons Necropolis & Temple have been significantly nerfed. Their damage should now feel more in line with the other Heroic Dungeons.
  • 1 Player Warp is now unlocked at Initiate rank instead of Scion, making it easier for newer players to create their own player warp shop.
    • As a result, Erebus rank now has access to 2 Player Warps, up from 1.
      • Godsblood now also has access to 2 Player Warps.
  • Furniture Cache has been updated. It previously only contained around 40–50 older furniture pieces, but can now drop all furniture, with more than 300 possible options.
  • Amethyst Blocks and Melon Blocks have been added to the Crafter job.
  • Fixed an issue where the Tier 8 pickaxe could display incorrectly in the Forge or appear to have no Efficiency.
  • Fixed an issue where dropping custom items could sometimes make them drop at your feet or launch in the wrong direction.
  • Fixed an issue where some town elevator signs required public build access instead of the correct town access rules.
  • New Isle of the Dead custom textures for the custom items that didn't have any: Tortilla Shell, Jack's Compass and Crocodile Teeth. Existing versions will still work as well. (Thanks Leah!)
